Rice expert, Kiyoaki Nagasaka, visits Kakaako Market!

Aloha FarmLovers!

This Saturday at Kakaako Farmers’ Market, we are proud to present Kiyoaki Nagasaka, a rice expert from Shizuoka, Japan and owner of the famous and historic Ankome Ando Kome (Rice) Shop. While working as a professional rice adviser, an instructor and a workshop organizer, he performs rice cooking demonstrations in various places under the guise of Suihaning.  He is an authority on the historical study of rice cooking techniques. He has shared his knowledge worldwide, and we are honored to have him as a special guest. Please join us this Saturday as he shares his techniques with an ultra-rare rice variety called Kamiakari, prepared in his kiln flown in from Japan. There are only four farmers in the world growing this lovely rice variety, so it is a special treat for all of us on Oahu! Please join us. Have questions? Call Sayuki at 808-800-1520, or swing by The Rice Factory at 955 Kawaiahao St, HNL.

Join us on Saturday May 20, 2017 and invite your friends and family to join edible Hawaiian Islands as we set out to SHOP at a farmers’ market, TAKE a farm tour or VISIT a farm. We encourage you to share your experience on social media and add our hashtag #eHIFarmDay17 to all your posting!
